Just a few warm-up sketches. The theme was Betty Page. I was reading the Latest issue of the Rocketeer earlier, and thought I'd do some quick portraits sketches as a warm-up. Now to settle into work and listen to the election results. Click on the images for a closer look!

Chair lift
I've been renovating my studio for the last couple of weeks, upgrading software and hardware, and some belated spring cleaning. It's been so hot I couldn't get any drawing done, even with the air conditioner. I even got a new chair. I originally set up my office so I could work standing up, but I've had some trouble finding a decent stool with back support, for when I do sit down. I found this one at Costco...

Mugging
That's right! Screw Puke Crywalker, the heck with Captain James T. Jerk. They're woosies! There's a new space hero in town, and/or space even! Show everybody you know better, without being too subtle, with a Hamm Starr mug!
Seriously, click here and buy this mug, proceeds go towards publishing the Hamm Starr comic!

DON'T DELAY, ORDER NOW!
...after the first printing sold out so fast, 'cause it has a story written and
drawn by me! Sure it's full of other great work too, and it also benefits a great
cause, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. So now that it's back in stock, you'll want to buy as many copies of this anthology as possible! Unless you're my family, who all have more important things to do apparently. But the rest of you reading this have no excuse!
Order a copy, or many copies, click here!!!Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Buy this book! I'm in it!
I am officially an emerging indie creator whose name is sure to become a mainstay in the comic industry in the years to come, WOOHOO! So order a copy at the below link, it has a story written and drawn by me! BUT, it's also a charitable anthology to benefit a great cause, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. So I'm very proud to be a part of this project, even if in only a small way.
Here is the publisher's description, (Where I am actually referred to as one of many, "emerging indie creators whose names are sure to become mainstays in the comic industry in the years to come." Very cool)...
"One and Done" is a clever anthology containing single-page tales of death and demise, with 100% of profits going to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Top creators in the comic book industry have contributed their amusing, scary, and twisted one pagers including Mark McKenna, Duncan Eagleson, Rob Jones, Peter Palmiotti, Stefano Cardoselli, Gary T. Becks, and many more. "One and Done" also includes the works of emerging indie creators whose names are sure to become mainstays in the comic industry in the years to come. In addition to nearly 50 single-page tales, "One and Done" also includes "Killer Extras" featuring new material, pinup art, and "undiscovered" reprint material.

Some more dinosaur sketches...
I've got two sketch books full of sketches like these, so I'll try and post more often. I've been using them for research on a book I'm illustrating featuring nearly 100 dinosaurs. Click on the images for a closer look!

There be dragons...
Here are some sketches from the book I'm working on. It features a whole cast of characters including 101 dragons. I've been researching dinosaurs and bugs, among other things, trying to come up with 101 unique and distinctly different dragons. This one is based on a parasaurolophus.
